How we test bows

Each compound bow is tuned with a paper-tune and walk-back-tune protocol, chronographed at 28" / 70 lb / 350 gr arrow, and shot at 20, 40, and 60 yards from a static rest. We score forgiveness, vibration, hand shock, draw cycle smoothness, and back-wall feel.

How we test arrows

Spine and weight tolerances are measured on every arrow in a 12-pack with a digital spine tester and a grain scale. We report the worst-case shaft, not the spec sheet.

How we test sights and rests

Field-tested for a full season. We track elevation drift, wear at the shoe, ease of micro-adjust under cold conditions, and broadhead tunability.

How we score

Numeric scores are out of 10. Anything below 8.0 does not get featured on the homepage. We do not publish negative reviews of products we did not buy with our own money.
