5 grains per pound of draw weight is the industry minimum — below that you risk damaging your bow and voiding the warranty (it approaches a dry-fire).

Are heavier arrows better for hunting?

Heavier arrows (6.5–9 GPP) carry more momentum, penetrate deeper and quiet your bow; lighter arrows fly flatter. Most hunters land between 6 and 8 GPP.
